Confirmation Class

What is confirmation?

Confirmation means strengthening. Trinity's Confirmation Class is a spiritual strengthening tool. It uses God’s Word to help growing young Christians become more stable, secure and strong in their faith. The ceremonial connection of a special Sunday when each confirmand can stand up in front of church is a reminder for the confirmand and the church that this young Christian has engaged in the strengthening process.

Confirmation is not graduation. It does not imply that a confirmand who has completed this specific course no longer needs to study God’s Word. Quite the contrary. We constantly need the strengthening of God’s Word, especially as we become young adults and take on more responsibility. This is preparation for a lifetime of Bible study, spiritual growth and Christian living.

Trinity's class enjoys a partnership between pastor, parents and young Christians, utilizing the strengths of each and maximizing the blessings that God has promised. With help from the pastor, parents and young Christians will both do some learning, and teaching. Most of it happens in the home, avoiding a long drive to church and offering a pleasant opportunity to relate the Christian faith to daily life instead of just Sunday at church.

Why confirmation?

To exercise

Trinity's confirmation class is a gymnasium. It takes what is strong and makes it stronger. It trains a young Christian toward a proper course of spiritual growth and maturity. It teaches a young Christian how to study God’s Word and live God’s Word. It offers longer lasting benefits than soccer or swimming.

To equip

Trinity's confirmation class is a home improvement warehouse. Even the strongest Christian faith or family is susceptible to deterioration, malfunction and wear. Here is the place where our young people and their parents come to get the necessary tools for enhancing and enjoying their relationship with God and others. It has better products than Home Depot, already paid for by God, and with a full guarantee.

To encourage

Trinity's confirmation class is a pat on the back and a hand on the shoulder. Today’s Christian families are richly blessed with many wonderful resources and relationships. Christian parents are positioned by God to have an astounding influence on their children (yes, even 7th & 8th graders). Here is the place to remember who you are and to rejoice in it.
