This Sunday is a big Sunday.  It is known as “Trinity Sunday” or “Holy Trinity” in the church year.  It is the day in which we take special time to remember and celebrate that our God is triune – three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) yet one God.  That is a big truth.

In fact, it is too big for you and me.  That is, the truth that we will contemplate – God being three in one – is simply too big for our little earthly minds to fully comprehend.  And that is a big reason to celebrate!

Why?  Well, if our God is so big, so awesome, that we can’t even quite comprehend His essence – that means that He is big enough to watch over us.  He is big enough to protect us.  He is big enough to care for us.  He is big enough to pay for and forgive all of our sins.  And He is big enough to bless us in ways that we can’t even imagine.

There is no sin of yours too big for Him to forgive, and no problem of yours too small for Him to forget.  He is big.  He is your God.  He loves you.  Let’s celebrate that today, Sunday, and every day.

Blessed by a big God with you,

Pastor Jon Bergemann
